A strange sight
Today I went to the gym and was shocked to see an elderly asian lady (at least 80 years old) in FULL asian garb working out on the stairmaster. It looked like she was struggling a bit, and I honestly wondered if it was someone’s mother and she was just messing around waiting for someone.
But then she asked these two guys who were torturing themselves on the leg press how many more sets they had left. When they finished she did no more than get into the leg press and start pressing 420 pounds. Actually I’m kidding about the 420 pounds but she did use the leg press.
I left my phone in the car otherwise I’d have taken a photo. It’s got to be the strangest thing I have seen so far this year. I mean don’t get me wrong, good luck to her. It’s just not what you would expect to see, especially in a meathead gym.

Damage repaired
The damage has been repaired (without respraying the whole bumper), however my wallet is now £140 lighter. Chips Away sanded down the area and cleaned it with solvent, before priming, painting, polishing and lacquering. All in all about 3 hours work and there is no sign of the original “mistake”.
I am glad the whole bumper didn’t need doing because I learnt today that when Jaguar apply the factory paint they check it afterwards with a laser to within 100 microns.
Afterwards the bin men arrived and I looked out the window to check they didn’t reverse the lorry into the car (that would have been ironic). Anyway, I saw the driver get out and look around suspiciously, and then proceed to have a piss up the side of the lorry wheel.
There looks like a blemish in the paint but this is just light reflection.
It’s finally happened…
I’ve had my car for sometime now and as many people will know I’ve kept it in perfect condition. Whenever I have to park in public car parks I tend to park far away from everyone else because I got fed up of paying £60 a time to have door dings removed (caused by people who fling open their doors when parked next to you or or ram a trolley into the side of your car).
In fact it was only last night I went to the cinema, and upon parking right at the far end of the car park my friend asked if we should get a taxi to take us to the other end, and almost got his binoculars out.
But today, I came to clean it for the first time in a few weeks and some stupid DICK HEAD with a red car has taken a one inch chunk of paint out of the bumper and left a nice 8 inch scuff alongside it. I have no idea who it was but there is a bit of red paint left behind.
I estimate the cost of sanding down and respraying the bumper will be between £200 - £500 :’(

Rounders Team
Me and a few friends have formed an “informal” rounders team. I haven’t played since school, and evidently I’m as bad at it now as I was back then! With any luck we’re having another game tonight - practise makes perfect I guess.
Regime Change
I decided it’s time for a regime change. When I realised I couldn’t run more than 5 meters without having to catch my breath I knew things were bad. Especially as I’m only 21.
So I have re-joined the gym which I haven’t been to in years. I’m afraid to say it’s not as good as it used to be, since they’ve bunged in a load of fancy machines and removed some of the free weights. But it’s only £2 each time you go which is great value. I’m trying to convince one of my friends to come, but I’m under the impression he’s only interested in going to spy on any women who happen to frequent the place.
In addition to this I have started to eat a bit more healthily. All this exercise gives you an appetite, so I have learnt to enjoy the delights of steak, eggs and peanut butter again. I’m trying to gain weight, not lose it for anyone who is wondering.
American Car Show
Today I went to the Billing Aquadrome in Northampton to an American car show.
The turnout wasn’t too great because the weather was so cold, but there were some impressive cars there. Here’s a few photos.
The above car was so low to the ground it was actually touching the grass - you can see this more closely in the picture below. Now I worry about stone chippings and stuff on my car, but driving this would give me sleepless nights.
Above is a Ford Mustang. Not sure why the Fords in England have to be so mundane.
Some weird little Hot Rod above.
Believe it or not, the above car (registered in the early 60’s) has an Internet connection. There’s a small screen and keyboard built into the dash, and a larger flat-screen monitor and keyboard in the boot.
The Dodge Viper above belongs to a friend of mine and has nothing less than an 8.2 litre engine. And I thought my petrol worries were bad.
